Entertainment Industry & Self Censorship
|
|
How can children behave if parents are in chaos? These are my thoughts about self-censorship for the entertainment industry heard on C-SPAN, 6/29/07, moderated by Senator Jay Rockefeller (D—WV). When I watch Mr. Rockefeller, a notably subdued man, I contrast his halcyon days of womanizing with the reprimanding, staid attitude he exhibits. Although our inclination is to thrash the messenger (the entire entertainment industry—and they will thrash back), is it not the government, the parent Mr. Rockefeller represents, which has brought the most chaos, deception, and sewage down upon the people? Yes, the people voted by a questionable majority for the current president, essentially a straw man, a man of pompous ignorance who is hiding the real disaster: those greedy sublevel operators who have been siphoning off the wealth of America. This voracious creaming of our capital and prosperity sent our values plummeting at an astonishing speed before the rest of the world, our true family. The American people don’t know what happened to them. They still think 9-11 was someone else’s fault. Not at all. It was a reaction to actions from this government, sold to the highest insider bidders, all done on the backs of American workers. It is not a conspiracy anymore than anyone else’s deceit and descent is a “conspiracy”. Such things happen with power: too tall, you fall. The meek can rise. If not America’s, then a new purity will ascend in importance. America will go on, perhaps longer than Britain after 1914. The gross weight of its talent and energy will fortunately be spread beyond its borders for many more to share (the Gates foundation, intellectual outsourcing, what’s mine is yours . . . for the searching, etc.). Far from stagnant, I await the future.
